Ana Brazil is the author of the historical mystery FANNY NEWCOMB AND THE IRISH CHANNEL RIPPER (published by Sand Hill Review Press) and the winner of the Independent Book Publishers Association 2018 Benjamin Franklin Gold Medal for Historical Fiction.

Ana earned her master’s degree in American history from Florida State University, has worked as an architectural historian and a technical writer, and is now writing fiction full-time. Her heroines are the independent American women of the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries who worked smart, fought hard, and persisted always.

“Mr. Borden does not quite remem—” (published in Kings River Life, October 2018) is a ghost story set in Lizzie Borden’s haunted home in Fall River, MA. “Mr. Borden” will be available in the Mysteryrat’s Maze Podcast (in October 2019).

“Kate Chopin Tussles with a Novel Ending” explores the themes of fault, blame, and guilt (or lack of it) as they intersect with renowned Louisiana author Kate Chopin and her 1899 landmark novel The Awakening. “Kate Chopin” is available in FAULT LINES: STORIES BY NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CRIME WRITERS.

“Miss Evelyn Nesbit Presents” appears in ME TOO SHORT STORIES: AN ANTHOLOGY (Level Best Books, September 3, 2019). This short story is inspired by the ME TOO revelations of early 20^th century beauty Evelyn Nesbit and present day actresses Ashley Judd, Lupita Nyong’o, and Reese Witherspoon.
