Elsie & Nelson ~ A Day at the Beach

What’s a hard-working vaudeville couple (of course I’m talking about Elsie Clark and Nelson Story, performing as The Two Storys) gonna do during those dog-days of summer?

Go to the beach, of course!

I’m guessing these beach-day photos were taken around 1919, just about the time my novel THE RED-HOT BLUES CHANTEUSE is set. I’m also guessing that the beach is somewhere in California, although since Elsie and Nelson played all over America, the location is really up for grabs.

It’s not quite Gatsby-elegant, but you can sure tell that Elsie, Nelson, and their friends (and unfortunately, I don’t know who any of them are…) had a fun day at the beach.

Hope your beach days are just as fun!
